A, spade. You can see that dummy's clubs are useless (but your partner might not know this). Also, you can see that declarer has diamond losers to trump in dummy. Your job is to prevent that. Win the first trick to switch to a trump. The full deal is:
Declarer will be able to trump only 1 diamond in dummy. He will lose 3 diamonds and a heart. There was no need to switch to hearts; if declarer had heart losers, he would lose them (where could they go)?
