I was drafted as a last-minute replacement for a suspended player, so I am in Washington D.C. at the nationals. So much for retirement. Fun in the Sun
Sun. Heat. Las Vegas in late June is best spent indoors. That's where an amazing number of fun and instructive deals occurred. Our team (shown) had a great week. There were six(!) deals that I found instructive. The first two are featured here, and the rest will appear in future months. 1) A Bergen Grand
Wednesday in Boca Raton, Florida means bridge. Under the organizational skills of Hall-of-Famer, Mike Becker, a strong IMP game is arranged. Most of the top 100 players in the country have at one time or another played in the game. The "Boca Standard" card shows the system of choice. This is probably a good starting or reference point for serious tournament players.
Bonus Cavendish Deal
This "Restricted-Choice" deal features one of the world's best players, Pepsi (the obvious nickname for Jacek Pszczoła). I shouldn't say this, but I've heard that if you are overweight, it is not a good idea to be Pepsi's partner. They will refer to the pair as "Pepsi and Pepsi Heavy."
