Dear Fellow Bridge Players, I played in my only 2011 bridge event last month--the U.S. Team Trials. We lost in the semis, and this deal got my dander up. Vanderbilt and the Origins of Bridge

As a bridge history buff, I often come across articles with historical interest. This one is quite long, but I suspect a glance through will be of interest to most of my readers. It comes from a 1956 Sports Illustrated Magazine. Bridge was "in" back then and regularly featured in the mainstream press.
