April 2006 Bridge with Larry Cohen Newsletter
News and articles about bridge
Greetings!
Welcome to new subscribers and welcome back to the regulars. I just returned from the Nationals in St. Louis and in this newsletter you will find a link to my report.

I hope you enjoy this and the other articles, including a feature about the "Becker Archives."

Six Spades and Four Hearts
Steve Robinson   A panel show article Steve Robinson
As a new feature here, I will from time to time share an expert panel's opinion on a specific bridge question. My comments (if you look hard enough) appear in each article.

This poll was put together by Washington expert and bridge Hall-of-Famer, Steve Robinson. It answers the age-old question of how to rebid when you have six spades and four hearts.

Behind the Archives
How did 700 bidding deals get on this site? Mike BEcker
What are the "Becker Archives?" Who is Michael Becker?

Michael Becker, son of bridge star, B.J. Becker, is a hall-of-famer in his own right. Now retired, and living in Florida, Mike has been "saving" interesting deals for more than four decades.

Some of his deals are featured in Bidding Competitions such as the Bridge World's "Challenge the Champs." Mike was gracious enough to release "the archives" for publication on this site. You and your partner can benefit greatly from this collection. Every month, new sets of (usually 16) deals appear. Print out the West hands and have your partner print the East hands. Click "results" for some comments from Mr. Becker.

Partnership Bidding Practice

As always, the new Practice Bidding Hands for the month are posted on my website.
